Five Guys Named Moe: Cast Q&A

20th Dec 2016

The cast of Five Guys Named Moe took some time between shows in their busy schedule to tell us a bit more about the show, what it's like performing in Edinburgh, and what they're looking forward to most about Christmas - take a look below:

Cameron Johnson (Big Moe)

1) Tell us a bit about your character…
Well, in the casting breakdown Big Moe was described as "a stern, authoritative Moe" which is generally pretty accurate. Big Moe is the one who is most patient with Nomax and tries to keep the others in check when they get a too rowdy...

2) If you could play any other part in the show, who would it be?
Probably the Emcee! It's a great little feature.

3) What’s your favourite part of the show?
Without a doubt, the cabaret. I think it's one of the audience's favourite parts too.

4) How do you usually celebrate Christmas?
This will be the third year in a row that I've spent Christmas away from home! Last year I was in Germany and the year before that I was in Sweden. So I guess my answer is that I haven't celebrated Christmas in a "usual" way for a while now.

5) What have you enjoyed most about your time in Edinburgh so far?
The night life! And I can't wait for Hogmanay!

Emile Ruddock (Eat Moe)

1) Tell us a bit about your character…
Eat Moe is the guy that strongly believes (from experience) that every problem can be solved with FOOD! He's generous and funny, and finds the fun in all things...the only problem  is - HE'S ALWAYS HUNGRY!

2) If you could play any other part in the show, who would it be?
The only other part I would want to play is Nomax as he's so different from Eat Moe. I love his song 'Early in the Morning', which includes an amazing baseline and rhythm section that I can't hear enough of.

3) What’s your favourite part of the show?
My favourite part of the show is probably all the magical elements. I loved magic tricks as a kid and still do the odd card trick, so to be able to perform professional tricks every night is majorly fun. I feel like a kid again!

4) How do you usually celebrate Christmas?
Usually I celebrate Christmas with the family, watching classic films and eating mince pies! Nothing better...unless you want to light the fire as well, then we're talking!

5) What have you enjoyed most about your time in Edinburgh so far?
I'm a sucker for architecture, it's kind of my obsession whenever I travel, and Edinburgh is bursting with it; the Castle, museums and just the general landscapes of this city are gorgeous. There's not enough time for me to see it all!

Mitchell Zhangaza (Little Moe)

1) Tell us a bit about your character…
Little Moe is the baby of the Moe's. He's got a lot of passion and energy and likes to think he knows what he is talking about but is quite naive. He loves a bit of confrontation with Nomax and also has a thing for big women...

2) If you could play any other part in the show, who would it be?
Big Moe, his song Caldonia is brilliant and he has some great lines

3) What’s your favourite part of the show?
My favourite part of the show is the Cabaret! It's when we get dressed up in our smarter clothing and look fancy. The songs in it are great fun and get the audience dancing and singing.

4) How do you usually celebrate Christmas?
My Christmas is usually quite chilled. It's my birthday on Christmas day also so it usually involves a lot of present, lots of food and lots of time spent with the family

5) What have you enjoyed most about your time in Edinburgh so far?
I've enjoyed just being away from London where I've lived my whole life. It's been a nice change as Edinburgh is a beautiful city with lots to do like the castle. Very cold though!

Spin (Four Eyed Moe)

1) Tell us a bit about your character…

My character is Four Eyed Moe, who's a bit of a nutter as he flip moods quickly but all with good intention. Four Eyed Moe is full of energy and smiling 90% of the time!

2) If you could play any other part in the show, who would it be?
I would play Eat Moe if I could be any other character.

3) What’s your favourite part of the show?
My favourite part of the show would either be the Cabaret or the song 'Knock Me a Kiss'.

4) How do you usually celebrate Christmas?
At my mum's house!

5) What have you enjoyed most about your time in Edinburgh so far?
I haven't had many chances to explore Edinburgh but I love the festival and of course Princes Street!

Tim Frater (Emcee/Cover)

1) Tell us a bit about your character…

I play the Emcee. I'm also the Dance Captain, and cover Little Moe and Know Moe.

2) If you could play any other part in the show, who would it be?
Big Moe because i'm the smallest cast member!

3) What’s your favourite part of the show?
There are so many great moments but I think is has to be the number 'Is You is'.

4) How do you usually celebrate Christmas?
I'm always at home with my partner and 2 boys which means it's always an early start.

5) What have you enjoyed most about your time in Edinburgh so far?
Edinburgh is such a great city to be in and now we can finally get a chance to explore. Also being amongst these crazy fools (the cast).
