Update: 5.20pm, Weds 4 Jan - Edinburgh's Christmas Closed
Unfortunately, as the weather has taken another turn for the worse, the decision has been taken to close the Edinburgh's Christmas site and attractions from 5.20pm today, Wednesday 4 January 2012.
Obviously not the ideal way to end this year's programme, but the weather continues to be against us. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing you all again in November!

Edinburgh's Christmas will be open as usual today, Wednesday 4 January 2012. Please note however, the site may be open slightly later than normal due to final safety checks following yesterday's extreme weather.

Edinburgh's Christmas Open From 10am
The weather is much calmer in the capital today and Edinburgh's Christmas is scheduled to open at 10 am - it's business as usual for festive revellers!

Edinburgh's Christmas Closed 5.55pm
Due to the high wind, the Edinburgh's Christmas site is now fully closed for the rest of today. We will reopen 10 am Wednesday 14 Dec, weather willing ...
Edinburgh's Christmas Markets Still Open - 5.30pm
Owing to increased high winds, the big wheel and other rides are now closed. The Christmas Market it still open for now. News to follow.
Edinburgh's Christmas Lower Gardens Closed Until Further Notice - 4pm
Owing to high winds, Edinburgh's Ice Rink and activities in the lower area of Princes Street Gardens have been closed. The big wheel and the markets are still open. Operators will reassess around 5pm.
