Light Night Line-up Revealed
Those lucky enough to be in Edinburgh tonight are in for a treat as the famous Light Night kicks off the 2011 Edinburgh's Christmas programme!
4pm - George Street
A first for Edinburgh’s Christmas, projections will illuminate George Street, from 4pm, with festive images and messages to encourage the crowds to head to the Mound for the main tree-lighting show.
5.15pm - The Mound
This year's jaw-dropping main event will see a 14-metre high snow queen command stunning pyrotechnics and ‘light’ the Christmas tree and Princes Street Gardens before the event concludes with the customary fireworks display. 6.15pm - St Andrew Square
A group of pipers will then lead the crowds from the bottom of the Mound to St Andrew Square for a dance and music-filled finale stage show. Compered by comedic duo, Bread and Butter, the show will feature singer Caitlyn Vanbeck, winner of Edinburgh’s Got Talent, plus runners-up Stephanie Ternent and Rebecca Traynor. Also on the line-up is a dance performance from renowned group, Spotlight Dance Studio, and the evening will come to an end with a set from Edward Reid, musical star of Britain’s Got Talent.
