The Homecoming 2009 Art Car Parade Finale
- Saturday 28 November
- 5.45pm (approx.) St Andrew Square
For the first time as part of Edinburgh’s Christmas the Homecoming 2009 Art Car Parade will hit the streets of Edinburgh on Saturday 28November, climaxing with a stunning stage show in St Andrew Square Gardens.
A highlight of ‘Sparkle into Christmas’ as well as the Homecoming Scotland Finale Celebrations, acts set to appear in the show will include world famous band, ‘Clanadonia’ and the spectacular ‘Flame Oz’, as well as the capital’s finest from this year’s ’Edinburgh’s Got Talent’ competition.
Clanadonia is a tribal drums and pipes band, which brings a high energy combination of rhythms, bagpipes and tartan clad mayhem, in an extravagant and visual show. The members of Clanadonia are a former close combat stunt crew, who formed the band during their time working together on films such as Braveheart and Gladiator.
The magnificent Flame Oz will light up the crowd with an unforgettable choreographed fire routine. An awe-inspiring blend of beauty, dance, power and energy, combined with feats of skill, artistry and fire manipulation, Flame Oz really push the boundaries of professional fire performance.
Also taking centre stage will be seven local dancing superstars from the Penicuik-based HaughyMcAuleyIrishDanceAcademy. The seven dancers will be performing their winning dance from this year’s Edinburgh’s Got Talent contest, ‘Tell Me Ma’, as well as performing a Scottish reel. Runner up in the competition, 14 year old Jack Robertson, will charm the crowd with his rendition of Dougie McLean’s ‘Caledonia’.
