The gift of the Christmas Tree from Hordaland County Council in Norway to the City of Edinburgh marks the close association arising during the second World War and the historical and cultural links between Edinburgh and Norway. The traditional Norwegian Carol Concert and the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony are now firm favourites in the city’s celebrations.
