Nativity Scene

Nativity Scene

27 November 2011 to 04 January 2012 - St Andrew’s Square Gardens

  • Sunday 27 November – Wednesday 4 January

Edinburgh’s much-loved Nativity Scene is once again set within the bustling St Andrew Square. Visitors can take time to stand and think about the meaning of Christmas while contemplating Tim Chalk’s thought-provoking sculpture.

This very special work was commissioned in 2003 to challenge the views many people hold of the nativity scene. Its graphic and realistic depiction of the nativity is both striking and emotional.

Edinburgh’s Christmas would like to extend special thanks to Sir Tom and Lady Farmer

for the donation of the Nativity Scene.
