12 December - Stills, 11am - 3pm
When Stills opened in 1977 it was the first space committed to showing and supporting photography in Scotland and it remains the only centre for photography in Edinburgh today. It is a dynamic, creative space in the city centre - artists and photographers come here to use Stills state-of-the-art facilities, which include digital labs and Scotland’s largest publicly accessible darkrooms. The exhibitions programme hosts internationally acclaimed artists all year around; currently there is a major retrospective exhibition of works by the pioneering Scottish artist Robin Gillanders on show. The centre also runs courses in photography, film-editing and various design packages and holds one of the largest photography libraries in Scotland.
Ben Harman, the Director of Stills, will take people on a guided tour of the exhibition at 12pm.
