This year George Street plays host to a fantastic Christmas market, Santa's Grotto, our spectacular new Ice Adventure along with rides for all the family!
George Street is fully accessible from both the Castle Street and Charlotte Street Entrances. An accessible toilet is available onsite next to the Ice Adventure.
We have tried to make the walkways of Edinburgh’s Christmas as even as possible with ramps to stalls where we can, however please note that due to the temporary nature of the site, ramps may occasionally be steeper than 1:12
Santa’s Grotto is fully accessible by wheelchair via a fold out ramp, please make yourself known on arrival to a member of Edinburgh’s Christmas staff who will be happy to help with the fold out ramp.
The Ice Adventure is fully accessible via wheelchair.
There is no ride-wide policy for the suitability of the rides for those with disabilities. This is due to variant conditions – e.g. unfavourable weather, the type of ride – and the nature of the disability, as some rides will require more support than others. The individual ride operator on the day will determine whether the ride is suitable, for safety reasons, and how they will grant admission. There is stepped access to the Drop Tower, and due to the construction of the ride, it is not possible to offer ramped access to the ride.
Pay and display parking for East Princes Street Gardens is available on Frederick Street, George Street, Hanover Street and Waterloo Place. This is free for Blue Badge holders with no time limit. Full details and locations of street Blue Badge parking bays can be found on the City of Edinburgh Council website at www.edinburgh.gov.uk or you can call them on 0131 469 3891.
