Southside is full of festive treats to explore!

29th Nov 2019

New to Edinburgh’s Christmas this year is the Southside of East Princes Street Gardens, where there are some very special festive treats to be found… With street food, family friendly rides, market stalls and one of our favourite views of Edinburgh’s Christmas, the Southside is waiting to be explored.

The Caravan of Courage

You won’t find more delicious vegan food anywhere! The Caravan of Courage serves everything from vegan hot dogs and burgers to mac and cheese, all 100% plant-based. Don’t miss their famous festive bowl, brimming with vegan mac and cheese, vegan haggis, crispy onions, crispy potatoes and cranberry sauce. We’re drooling just thinking about it!

Fox Hat

If mouth-watering pulled pork, beef brisket and delicious loaded fries are more your thing, the Fox Hat is the place to go! Try their Brisket Bun, with whisky oak smoked local Scottish brisket as the star of the show.

Browse stalls like Loch Ness Leather, offering beautiful, handmade leather products born in the Scottish Highlands, or pick up personalised Toblerone and Cadbury’s chocolate bars for the perfect stocking filler!

We might be biased, but we think the views of Edinburgh’s Christmas from the Southside are spectacular, and best enjoyed from the Helter Skelter, Balloon ride and Rollercoaster!

Warm up with a hot chocolate or a Glühwein from the deck of the Rekorderlig Bar, with a beautiful view of the vintage helter skelter and the Forth 1 Big Wheel.

Enter Edinburgh’s Christmas from Market Street and wander through Southside, or follow the signs from elsewhere in East Princes Street Gardens to enjoy everything Southside has to offer. Happy exploring!
